INTERPOLATION OF FRANCK-CONDON FACTORS,

Abstract

Magnitude estimates of Franck-Condon factors may be used for definitive identification of molecular bands or band systems, or for estimates of radiative heat transfer from hot gases. An interpolation of them allows a simple means of making such estimates. A transition parameter t which varies from band to band and which may be used for interpolation is therefore required in order that plots of the factors versus t can be made for each band of interest. The method of deriving an approximation for t is shown. (Author)
