BALLOON DESIGN DATA IN GORE LENGTH UNITS.

Abstract

Design data for the shape of natural-shape zero-pressure balloons are given with the total gore length as the nondimensionalizing length parameter. In addition to the shape coordinates, the cumulative zonal area and volume are given in terms of the total area and volume, respectively. Fully tailored balloons for & = 0(0.05) 1.0, cylinder balloons for 0 < & < or = 0.377, and cylinderend balloons for & = 0.2 are presented. The computer programs used are listed. (Author)
