APPLICATION OF THE GALERKIN VARIATIONAL METHOD TO PROBLEMS OF FLUTTER OF ELASTIC PANELS,

Abstract

The work is devoted to the explanation of a known paradox connected with the application of the Galerkin variational method to problems of flutter of flat panels in a supersonic flow of gas. It shows that the Galerkin method gives reliable results in reference to plates with bend rigidity different than zero. (Author)
