GENERAL RESISTANCE TEST OF A STEPLESS PLANING HULL WITH APPLICATION TO A HYDROFOIL CONFIGURATION

Abstract

General resistance tests of TMB Model 4667 were conducted to determine the performance characteristics of one of a series of hulls which might be adaptable for use with hydrofoils. Resistance, trimming moment, and wetted length were measured for several load, trim, and speed conditions. All data are presented in nondimensional form for use in comparing hull forms and calculating takeoff performance.
