A BROADBAND COMPLEMENTARY TRANSISTOR AMPLIFIER,

Abstract

A two-stage NPN-PNP complementary transistor amplifier with great versatility over a broad frequency range is described herein. This circuit configuration provides high-input impedance and low-output impedance coupled with extremely stable gain characteristics. The circuit is analyzed in some detail to determine the configuration that optimizes the high frequency and DC stability, minimizes the noise characteristics, and provides the least variation in AC operating parameters. Design data show that the circuit can be easily modified to meet different requirements, and critical parameters are identified so that component tolerances may be adequately determined.
