NETWORK SYNTHESIS TO MINIMIZE MULTIPARAMETER SENSITIVITY,

Abstract

The concept of sensitivity group is introduced in giving a new definition of multiparameter sensitivity which is more general than that of Goldstein and Kuo. Some theorems on the multiparameter sensitivity for RLC network are given. From these theorems, the sensitivity groups of any RLC network can be directly determined from the network. The multiparameter sensitivity of any RLC network can thus be easily obtained. The new definition makes it possible to compare two RLC networks of different topology realizing the same network functions with respect to multiparameter sensitivity. In particular, RC ladder networks are compared with non-seriesparallel structures which are synthesized by an extension of a procedure due to H. B. Lee. It is shown that the new networks always have smaller values of multiparameter sensitivity than two classes of equivalent ladder networks. Numerical examples computed on CDC 1604 and IBM 7094 are given to illustrate the method. (Author)
