A CURRENT MODE DA CONVERTER,
Abstract
The design of a digital to analog converter using a current driven ladder instead of the more conventional voltage driven technique is described. The constant current source is a standard Darlington configuration which is easily temperature compensated. The converter specifications include a maximum worst case absolute error of less than .01%, long term stability better than .008%, 0 offset voltage, and a setting time of less than 1.8 microsec. No trimming components are used. (Author)
