SOVIET SEMICONDUCTOR LASER RESEARCH,

Abstract

This report is an analysis of Soviet literature on the subject of semiconductor laser research. Considerable care has been taken to retrieve and include the maximum possible portion of the total Soviet open-source publications directly pertinent to the subject. The number of Soviet sources thus obtained and used in this analysis was 35. In order to present a complete and continuous picture of Soviet activity in this area, this report also includes the early papers showing the inception of various semiconductor maser ideas. For the same reason, the main theoretical arguments have been given in relatively great detail.
