FOUNDATIONS OF NONLINEAR PROGRAMMING: NOTES ON LINEAR PROGRAMMING AND EXTENSIONS, PART 65,

Abstract

The memorandum develops and uses some of the mathematical tools required for nonlinear programming: the notation of the gradient, of convexity; the maximization of nonlinear functions without constraints; and some properties of linear programming approximations to nonlinear problems. The tools are used to describe some nonlinear programming algorithms. (Author)
