SURVEY OF SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS WITH THE AIRBORNE INFRARED THERMOMETER.

Abstract

A survey of the sea surface temperatures south and west of Bermuda was conducted over a five day period. Airborne observations were made from a pressure altitude of 500 ft. using the Barnes infrared thermometer. Approximately forty hours of flying time and 120 plotted observations were required in the preparation of the map of the sea surface temperature analysis. (Author)
