HAZELTINE SLATE III AND SLATE III MARK I TRANSPONDERS.

Abstract

A description is given of the transponders, and of the test equipment and procedures used. Only laboratory bench tests were performed. Marginal side lobe suppression and poor echo suppression over the required dynamic range of the receiver were the major deviations. The transponders are considered to be acceptable except for the deviations noted.
