STABILIZATION OF MONOETHANOLAMINE WITH CHELATING AGENTS,

Abstract

It has been determined that commercial chelating agents impart oxidation resistance to carbonated monoethanolamine solutions. The monosodium salt of N, N-dihydroxyethylglycine was found to be the most effective chelating agent investigated. It reduces the oxidation rate of monoethanolamine to five percent of that which would occur if no chelating material were present.
