THE PHOTO-PISTOL (PISTOL TYPE PHOTO CAMERA),

Abstract

A description is given of the objective of the pistol-type camera announced by S. Chernin in 1963 in the journal SOVETSKOYE FOTO. With the new telephoto lens, adjustment for clearness is achieved by shifting a dispersion lens in the objective, and the focal distance is changed from 250 to 300 mm, depending upon the adjustment made for clearness. These changes, with a 1:63 illuminating power permit the photography of near objects with smaller focal distance and distant objects with greater focal length but lower illuminating power. The new objective weighs 300g.
