END SEALING OF A SHAFT,

Abstract

The object of the invention is the end sealing of a shaft in the form of a ring turning together with the shaft, the ring sliding on the smooth motionless end surface to which it is pressed by a spring, bellows-type packing, and slotted centrifugal packing, formed by the ring gap between the bottom of a cup turning together with the shaft and the motionless end surface. For the purpose of releasing the sliding sealing at high angular velocity the jacket of the sliding ring has a conical end surface resting on balls which push it out under the action of centrifugal force.
