THE OPTIMUM OPERATION OF ENERGYRESTRICTED ROCKETS, INCLUDING RELATIVISTIC EFFECTS,

Abstract

If the total energy available for the propulsion of a rocket is restriced while the exhaust velocity may be varied, it has been shown that the rocket performance can be improved by certain 'tayloring' of the exhaust speed. This concept is discussed in terms of relativistic mechanics.
