CHANGE OF THE MOMENTUM AND ENERGY OF ELECTRONS FROM SYSTEMS WITH VARIABLE PHYSICAL STATES.

Abstract

The difference between the momentum distributions of electrons in the liquid and solid states has been investigated. The technique used is to measure the angular correlation of the gamma rays which are emitted when positrons are annihilated by the electrons of the substance-under study. A significant difference in the momentum distribution of electrons in the two phases has been observed. The substances used in the investigation were paraffin, candelilla wax, campeche wax and synthetic wax. (Author)
