TEST PROGRAM FOR AUTOMATIC LIGHT AIRCRAFT READINESS MONITOR (PROJECT ALARM)

Abstract

The report covers approximately 100 flight test hours of a U. S. Army Aviation Materiel Laboratories in-house program conducted to determine the effectiveness of the Automatic Light Aircraft Readiness Monitor (ALARM) system. The purpose of the ALARM system was to provide lower echelons with a tool for determining the airworthiness of an aircraft. The test program consisted mainly of comparing ALARM no-go indications with actual test aircraft malfunction data. The test results indicate that the ALARM system could be used to determine the airworthiness of an aircraft at first echelon if modifications were performed and an additional test program were conducted.
