AMPLIFIER OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES IN THE OPTICAL RANGE.

Abstract

The proposed amplifier is designed in the form of a closedring dielectric fiber waveguide in order to broaden its experimental possibilities. Each fiber of the waveguide has a small or a negative coefficient of absorption and is coated with material having a reduced dielectric constant. The input and output of energy into and from the waveguide is accomplished by means of optically switched light guides. The excited state of the medium is maintained by a pumping system.
