NOISE ATTENUATION EVALUATION OF TWO AUDIOMETRIC TESTING BOOTHS.
Abstract
Two audiometric testing booths, Koppers Co. Model 50 and Industrial Acoustics Co. Model 400 were measured to determine their noise floors and attenuation characteristics in 110 db of ASA white noise. The IAC booth meets the BUMED attenuation requirements and is relatively easy to fabricate. The Koppers booth does not meet the attenuation requirements (especially in the 300600 cps band) and is more difficult to fabricate. There is a 21 db higher ambient noise level in this booth than in the IAC booth. (Author)
