THE PROFICIENCY OF FIRST TOUR PILOTS AS INSTRUCTORS.

Abstract

An evaluation was made of the proficiency of the 'plowback' as a flight instructor. The 'plowback,' or first tour instructor, is the aviator who, on graduation from flight training, is reassigned to the Training Command for instructor duty in contrast to an aviator who is being assigned to the fleet for duty.
