UTILIZATION OF HAND-TOOLS IN U. S. NAVY ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE.

Abstract

On the basis of a survey of the use of hand-tools in electronic equipment maintenance in the Fleet, it is recommended that: (1) the wide variety of fasteners (screws, nuts, and bolts) be reduced so as to reduce the variety of hand-tools currently necessary; (2) sufficient space be provided in new equipment to permit manipulation of fasteners; and (3) smaller and finer versions of the standard hand-tools be designed for the new, smaller equipments.
