AN EVALUATION PROGRAM FOR A RADIOACTIVE WASTE TREATMENT FACILITY

Abstract

A facility for the concentration of low level radioactive liquid waste was designed and fabricated. Prior to releasing this facility for routine operation, an evaluation program was conducted. The objectives of the evaluation were to: (1) Determine the optimum operating conditions of the radioactive liquid waste treatment facility. (2) Determine the capabilities and limitations of this facility. (3) Determine the effect of the operating variables on the decontamination factor (DF) and concentration factor (CF).
