BASIC STUDIES ON THERMOELECTRIC MATERIALS.

Abstract

Work was performed on a number of materials of thermoelectric interest. Although some of the work involves a study of a large number of compounds, the major interest in all work has been a better understanding of the properties of materials and the interrelations between the transport properties of interest in thermoelectric applications and the fundamental properties of the material such as the valence electron density and the crystal structure. Materials which have been studied are PtSb, GeTe, and a wide class of materials having pyrite or marcasite structures.
