SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC INVESTIGATION OF REACTION OF NIOBIUM AND TANTALUM WITH SALICYLHDROXAMIC ACID,

Abstract

A method is described whereby the amount of niobium in the presence of tantalum may be determined by measurement of the absorption spectrum. Salicylohydroxamic acid is used, and the solution may be strongly acidic with H2S04. The strongly acidic solutions are convenient for determination of niobium in alloys.
