EFFECTS OF PASSIVE ATTITUDE CONTROL ON SOLAR POWER SYSTEMS,

Abstract

There is a strong relationship between a spacecraft's attitude control system and its capacility for generating electrical power from solar cells. The effects of four particularly interesting passive attitude control techniques on the spacecraft's solar power system are discussed. These four techniques are: solar stabilization, spin stabilization, magnetic stabilization, Gravity Gradient Stabilization.
