DETERMINATION OF ELECTRON DENSITIES USING A RADIAL TRANSMISSION LINE.

Abstract

This report presents a new method for measuring the electron density and collision frequency of plasmas. This diagnostic technique which is applicable to low as well as high density plasmas, minimizes the usual field problems associated with microwave plasma diagnostic schemes. The effect of plasma non-uniformity on this technique has been calculated. Spectrographic measurements and thermodynamic partition function calculations were found to be consistent with the plasma parameters measured with the present technique. (Author)
