INVESTIGATION OF HEAT VIBRATIONS IN SOLIDS BY USING X-RAYS.

Abstract

A suitable furnace was constructed enabling the annealing of samples in an inert gas stream up to 700C. A suitable vacuum chamber was constructed to extend the measurements on the Philips goniometer at low temperature. Measurements were carried out on Silver and Gold at low temperature, on Lead at high temperature and on Platinum at high and low temperature. Experiments were also made on Thallium.
