COMPOSITION OF T-5 FUEL: REVIEW ARTICLE.

Abstract

The report is to present the latest data on the composition and possible origin of the Soviet T-5 jet fuel and to evaluate these data. The fuel is defined as that of gas oil type, basically designed for supersonic aircraft. A reported source gives for the first time an exhaustive analysis of T-5 fuel, and a previously reported source is used for comparison. In the course of this comparison it was found that the physical and chemical properties of the actual analysis given in the former differ from the limit values of the specifications given in the latter. Moreover, there is also a difference between the actual composition of T-5 fuel as given in the former and in the analyses given in AD-621 874. The probable reasons for differences are discussed and evaluated.
