AN AEROSOL CLOUD: A PHYSIOCOCHEMICAL SYSTEM.

Abstract

Experiments are described that lead to the suggestion that forces attract aerosol particles to air molecules, whereas thermal motion in the aerosol cloud causes the opposite effect. That tensile strength and surface tension of an aerosol cloud should be the consequences of the attracting forces is proved by the experiments reported. It is concluded that: (1) Forces attract aerosol particles to air molecules. (2) A cloud of fine aerosol possesses tensile strength and surface tension. (Author)
