MODELLING OF AUDIOGENIC EPILEPSY OF RODENTS: SUMMARY OF DATA BASED ON SOVIET LITERATURE,

Abstract

The object of the experiment was to utilize mathematical modeling in order to verify the laws underlying certain protective mechanisms used by the nervous system under stress of external stimulation. Reflex (audiogenic) epilepsy of rodents was selected for studying the interrelationship between stimulation and inhibition as elements of the protective mechanism used by the nervous system. The experiments were oriented toward auditory stimulation, and one of the protective mechanisms under study was that of parabiotic, or transthreshold stimulation.
