OLBERS' PARADOX AND COSMOLOGICAL MODELS,

Abstract

A review of Olbers' Paradox is given; it is noted how Olbers' assumptions, postulated in 1826, can be used to classify generically the current cosmological models. Hierarchal homogeneity was examined as a basis for new types of cosmological models. The assumption of hierarchal distribution of matter is suggested to account for the observed night-sky brightness.
