QUANTUM MULTIPLIERS AND MIXERS.

Abstract

The theoretical basis for harmonic generation due to nonlinear quantum susceptibilities in gases is reviewed. Examples of partly resonant and resonant systems are given. The initial experimentation on the apparatus for a two-level, third harmonic, partly resonant system is discussed. Preparation for construction of apparatus for the resonant frequency scheme are described. Absorption studies of multiple quantum effects in MgO (Mn2+) are discussed. (Author)
