THE EFFECTS OF IONIZING RADIATIONS ON THE BIOCHEMISTRY OF MAMMALIAN TISSUES.

Abstract

The report concerns studies on the scope and the nature of the inhibitory affect of x-radiation on the biosynthesis of enzymes in the microsomal fraction of the liver. The results of the research summarized in the report indicate that radiation specifically inhibits the process responsible for the development of a sex difference in hepatic detoxification enzymes in rats and that this effect is mediated through some area in the central nervous system.
