DESIGN MODIFICATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF HIGH POWER DEUTERIUM THYRATRONS.

Abstract

A second phase of development of the high-power deuterium thyratron was entered into (for first phase see AD-610 548). Emphasis was on incorporating improvements which will insure long term stability of various cathode parameters. A revised cathode structure was designed and fabricated using short lead time techniques. Details of this design and preliminary evaluation of the performance of the tube in which it was incorporated are given.
