NONUNIFORM STEADY FLOW OF AN IDEAL FLUID PAST AIRFOILS. PART III. NUMERICAL RESULTS.

Abstract

In Parts I and II (AD-610 445 and AD-614 929) theories for nonuniform flow of an exponential type past airfoils were derived. In this part a further improvement to the approximate theory of Part II is developed. The velocity distribution at elliptical profiles of relative thickness 0.1 and 0.2 was computed for angles of attack in the range 0 < or = sin alpha < or = 0.3 and is shown in tables in such a way that the accuracy of the methods can easily be compared.
