Each chapter contains review exercises followed by the answers to the questions presented in the exercises. Chapter I is an introduction to JOVIAL, Chapter II describes items, the assignment statement and the four basic arithmetic operations of JOVIAL. Chapter III presents JOVIAL coding formats and a representation of Hollerith information on punched cards.
