MAGNETOGASDYNAMIC FLOWS OF SMALL MAGNETIC REYNOLDS NUMBER. PART I.

Abstract

The two-dimensional steady case is investigated for magnetogasdynamic flows of small Reynolds number. A new method is developed for a numerical treatment of the equations for the four real characteristic directions involved. The method is described by illustrating its use in the example of the MGD flow in a steady crossed field accelerator. Results are presented of calculations carried out on a Zuse Z 23V computer.
