TRACK TESTING TECHNIQUES OF INERTIAL GUIDANCE SYSTEMS,

Abstract

Equipment and evaluation procedures are described which facilitate speed measurement of a supersonic sled during the important part of the run with a bias error of less than one part in 40,000. This accuracy together with angular position monitoring of the stabilized platform by means of photo autocollimators offers a possibility for experimental determination of the systematic errors of an inertial guidance system under realistic operational conditions.
