MICROLAYER COLLECTION FROM THE SEA SURFACE: A NEW METHOD AND INITIAL RESULTS,

Abstract

A new surface collector makes possible the rapid collection of large volumes of relatively undisturbed water and surface film from the upper 60 microns of the sea surface. An area of over 1,000 square meters can be sampled in an hour. The characteristics of this previously poorly known region can now be investigated. Preliminary results are reported. (Author)
