SAMPLING AND DIGITIZING OF METEOROLOGICAL DATA,

Abstract

Requirements exist for higher response meteorological instrumentation and for the digitizing of meteorological data for digital computers. A study of two of the major factors, sensor response and sampling rates, has been made. A method is presented for converting distance constant to equivalent frequency, with the results in terms of an equation. In addition, sampling rate requirements within the framework of information theory considerations are discussed. (Author)
