METHOD FOR ESTIMATING THE CATAPULT PERFORMANCE OF A CARRIER-BASED AIRPLANE

Abstract

The method consists of two parts; (a) the determination of airplane position at the end of the catapult power stroke and (b) the determination of the motion of the airplane subsequent to leaving the catapult. The method is oriented toward use of a small digital computer; however, the calculations could be performed with only the use of a desk calculator.
