DEVICE FOR X-RAY STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS,

Abstract

A device for X-ray structural analysis of radioactive materials is presented. The device has the distinguishing feature that for the purpose of increasing the precision of the measurement a modulator is provided which accomplished the modulation of the X-ray beam in accordance with a law close the sinusoidal. The modulator is designed in the form of a flat metallic disk eccentrically placed inside of a metallic ring, it is fastened at the point of contiguity in such a way that the geometrical centers are displaced in different directions relative to the axis of rotation of the modulator. The modulator is designed in the form of a disk from material which along the circumference alternates in thickness with a change that depends on the angle of turn in accordance with sinusoidal law.
