METHOD OF OBTAINING HARD POLYMERS FROM N-PHENYLIMIDE OF MALEIC ACID,

Abstract

The object of the invention is a method of obtaining hard polymers of N-phenylimide of maleic acid which is distinguished by the feature that, for the purpose of obtaining thermally and chemically resistant material, the N-phenylimide of maleic acid is subjected to the action of ionizing radiation at a temperature not higher than, but near to, the melting point, after which the radiated product is heated up to 100C. For the purpose of getting the polymer mainly in the crystalline or the amorphous state, the radiation is varied between 2 and 10 Mr. (Author)
