CYANOACRYLATE ADHESIVES - PART II. SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF ALKYL ALPHA CYANOACRYLATES.

Abstract

Details of the preparative method for alkyl cyanoacrylates are given. The physical properties of the homologous series, methyl to octyl cyanoacrylates are presented along with those for allyl cyanoacrylate. The derived properties namely, Molar Refraction and Parachor values, exhibit linear increase with increasing molecular weight. This indicates that the homologous series investigated consist of reasonably pure chemical compounds. (Author)
