QUARTZ CRYSTAL UNITS, FILTER LOW FREQUENCY, 1 MC TO 10 MC TYPES CR-(XM-49)/U THRU CR-(XM-52)/U.
Abstract
The report period was concerned with technical problems which required solution before preproduction samples could be fabricated. Actions which were introduced to resolve these technical difficulties were: submission and approval of a TAR to modify certain SCS-191 requirements (to render the mass loading technique compatible with requirements), mass loading experiments at problem frequencies 5 mc and 16 mc, and fabrication of prototype HC-6/U mounts to accommodate 0.600 inch diameter crystal blanks. Remaining time in the period was expended on fabrication - to the mounting operation of preproduction samples at frequencies 1.75 mc and 10 mc. Although much technical progress has been made, additional design refinements are required at frequencies 5 mc and 6 mc before preproduction samples will be fabricated at these 2 frequencies.
