THERMAL STRESSES IN A CONVECTIVE ELASTIC HALF SPACE ASSOCIATED WITH AN ARBITRARILY DISTRIBUTED FAST-MOVING HEAT SOURCE,

Abstract

A solution of the stress field within an elastic half-space under an arbitrarily-distributed, fast moving heat source of constant velocity within two dimensional, quasi-static, uncoupled thermoelastic theory is presented. The surface is allowed to dissipate heat by convention. An example associated with the elastohydrodynamic lubrication is given. (Author)
