Abstract

A brief account is presented of a doctoral thesis on 'The hypergenesis of the Quatenary period and its geographic aspects'. The dissertation is based on a comparative geographic study of the physicogeographic conditions of the USSR, from the tundra to the desert. The vast amount of factual information obtained by combining the field investigations with the latest methods of analytical research has enable the author of the thesis to establish the basic features of the hypergenesis in the quatenary period in the European part of the USSR, Kazakhstan and Central Asia, and ascertain the characteristics of the hypergenic evolution in various regions.
