NUMERICAL INVERSION OF LAPLACE TRANSFORMS AND SOME INVERSE PROBLEMS IN RADIATIVE TRANSFER,

Abstract

A consideration of a semi-infinite homogeneous slab atmosphere that absorbs radiation and scatters it isotropically. A basic inverse problem is the determination of the source function, given the angular dependence of the emergent radiation. The authors show how to solve this problem, making use of previous work on the numerical inversion of Laplace transforms. (Author)
