STUDY OF INFRARED PARAMETRIC AMPLIFIER.

Abstract

Some considerations of nonlinear polarization susceptibility in semiconductors and the propagation through various dielectric and depletion layer waveguide structures are reviewed. The results of the device experiments carried out during this reporting period are included as halftone figures within the text. The demonstration of laser radiation propagation through a dielectric image line of dimensions sufficiently small to demonstrate the lowest-order mode of propagation for both transverse electric and magnetic configurations is believed to be the first of its kind.
