DETOXIFICATION OF VENOMS OF AGKISTRODON PISCIVORUS AND CROTALUS ATROX WITH LACTIC ACID,

Abstract

Antigens derived from the crude venom of Agkistrodon piscivorus and Crotalus atrox were prepared by the use of 0.5% lactic acid, pH 2.4. When injected into three dogs and two rabbits, a marked resistance to the venoms was indicated by serum neutralization and agar-gel diffusion tests. (Author)
